In another attempt by me to coattail ride in on History's footnotes:
I was once in a band with Joe, the drummer for Bardo Pond. He was on their first five albums, but actually I think he went on to teach physics at Yale. He's one of the iconoclasts that I know.
I forget how to link in a comment section so you have to suffer the cut and paste url to our recordings:
To set the record (pardon the pun) straight, that is a song called "Steve LaRose" by a band called The Sad and Lonelys. They are/were Ed Fotheringham, Steve Turner, and Joe Culver. A skinny bunch of cool cats. . . with a sardonic whiff of asshole. (Google their skills you neophytes) They are those kind of jokers for whom talent seems to come easy. I suppose Ed and Steve are two of the other iconoclastic sweethearts that I know. Joe (the aforementioned drummer for Bardo Pond) did sing this song. . . reading my Ouzo fueled Foucault plagiarisms.
But did you listen to some of the other songs? That was so fun! It kicked the living shit out of painting. I will NEVER encourage my daughter to draw or paint (other then as a hobby), because Music is where it is at!
