Like the last three posts have all been props for former students of mine who are kicking ass..and the trend continues with Oscar. A student of mine last semester, Oscar took very quickly to glazing techniques, and was dropping some pretty heavy bombs in what was a class full of some pretty serious talent. This piece is among my favorites, but I expect much more in years to come from this artist who could hardly be considered a "student" anymore, and is in the beginning stages of developing a professional identity that I'm sure will be vivid, forceful, and full of dark beauty and idiosnycratic vision.
