Jonathan Meese

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out his message. It's a little jumbled. It could be this is a joke and no one told me....

I wish I had an accent.

This is what you get for paying attention in art school.

Thirty years after Beuys, you get the 'fun-lost generation' version in extended dance remix. Veterans and insiders get nostalgic about this stuff but Meese is really just a passenger. The Hamptons seems about right as a placement frankly.

Bock is a better proposition, although not that different.

I notice Meese 'changed' dealers in NY this year (to Audellos?), and it was not a move up the food chain.

These guys that work so hard on their image think all the other stuff takes care of itself (like Thek, remember him?) actually they just get swallowed up by it.

In a way it is a joke, but the joke's on Meese.

You do have an accent, Steve. But you may have to travel further before anyone can hear it.

To judge from the you-tubes - he hangs out with his mother.

Cue clip from Psycho....

This clip is the best of the JM stuff I've seen. Pure poetry. We didn't make the grass. I cares not about us...

I wonder if aware aspiring artists in Germany see a jesus-type in a track suit and just glower...I like "fun-lost generation extended dance remix." I will hand it to JM that he is obssessed with DAF and they have for-reals extended dance remixes.

Daniel Richter...why is your work hiding in Denver when you should be saving us from this youtube fiasco...a small show at Regen is not enough!
